Cliffs of Moher part 1 by onesh0t Cliffs of Moher part 1 by onesh0t
I have completely reproduced an earlier shot, as there was too much distortion, colour shifts and it wasn't stitched properly. I will keep two of them for the meantime, after which this one will remain in the gallery.

Full view is a must, as the ICC profiled is stripped from miniature by dA.

I have recently went on a trip to the Republic of Ireland, namely Counties Clare and Kerry, spending a total of 6 days in those beautiful places. I was hoping for slightly better weather condition, but I suppose you cannot have it all. Apart from visiting many tourist attractions I spent a few days shooting. Those have to be one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

The Cliffs of Moher are one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ireland attracting close to a million visitors yearly (according to Wikipedia). They reach 214 metres at the highest point making them the tallest in Ireland. There are a lot of birds nesting around the lower parts of the cliffs. I thought it added to the charm of the scenery.

Wow! Nice shot!
Just one question though, I heard that some people have a soft corner while using Tokina 11-16mm.
Did you ever had that problem?
Thank you!

Unless you're using fixed focal length lenses, or L class lenses, you're always going to get soft corners to a certain degree. This Tokina is one of the sharpest APS-C lenses you can buy. It's so sharp, that in tests on the 350D it exceeded the sensors capacity to capture detail. You will get some soft corners, but nothing to be worried about, unless you're printing above A2, in which case I would suggest moving onto a full frame sensor and spending silly money on a wide-angle.

To summarize. Buy it.

Thank you for the suggestion and sorry about the double post :)
Lately, I have been asking a lot of people regarding this lens, and none of them had a negative say about it ;)

Yeah, as soon as I save up few more $$$, I will get the lens XD
And nice shot again!

As I'm Irish I love this shot. You might try crotting a teeny bit from the left as it distracts a bit from the linear cliffs stretching into the distance. Also the large shadow and wall(?)is a distraction. Cut them out and you might find the eye seeks out that interesting view peeking above the cliffs. As the scenery is so magnificent I don't think you need to photoshop the sky quite as much. Great work

I tried really hard to get that 'wall' in the frame, got as close to the edge as I had courage to :)
Thanks :)

You did a good job but did you use a stand?
Why didn't you use a longer exposure and a higher aperture,
because there isn't engough sharpness at the border areas?
But the sky and ocean is staged perfectly.

Are you asking about a tripod? Yes, it's hard to shoot panoramas without ones, especially when you intend to stitch vertical shots. I don't have a ballhead on it though, so I sometimes have issues with leveling the horizon in multiple shots.
You need to bear in mind, that the 50D is a crop sensor (1.6 crop factor), which makes the system diffraction limited. That is why I didn't use a smaller aperture.
